Road Closure

Which roads are closing and when?

The Faversham Hop Festival is once again upon us, and this notice is to advise you of the Road Closure Order approved by Swale Borough Council for the safe execution of the event. For the avoidance of doubt, we should advise that the Road Closure Order has been put in place under the provisions of the Town Police Clauses Act. It is an offence to interfere with, remove or drive through any such Road Closure.

The Road Closure Order will apply to the roads listed below and will run from 8.00am to 7.00pm on Saturday 2nd September and 8.00am to 7.00pm on Sunday 3rd September and all vehicles must be removed from these areas by 8.00am.

  1. Preston Street (in its entirety)
  2. Stone Street from its junction with Preston Street to its junction with Union Street
  3. Market Street (in its entirety)
  4. East Street from its junction with Newton Road to its junction with Preston Street
  5. West Street (Upper) from Market Place to its junction with North Lane
  6. Market Place (in its entirety)
  7. Middle Row (in its entirety)

  10. Leslie Smith Drive at a point immediately south of the access into Central Car Park

  12. Bank Street at its access point into Central Car Park

In the event of the Police deciding certain roads are not safe to open at 7pm they may exercise their authority to keep them closed until they decide they are safe to open to traffic.

Thank you for the part you play in helping us deliver a safe and enjoyable festival. Please do get in touch with us if you have any queries about the road closures. We will always endeavour
to do what we can to assist within the legal remit of the Road Closure Order.

We hope you will be able to join us for a great weekend.
